Welcome to the Cheshire, North Wales and Wirral Dyslexia Association Website
Within this site you will find many useful links to dyslexia related information and other websites, including the national body for dyslexia (British Dyslexia Association). You are able to e-mail any queries or general enquiries to us using our Contact form. There is also a membership form available if you wish to become a member of the Cheshire, North Wales & Wirral Dyslexia Association. The Association is a charitable association which is open to all members of the public.
At present we cover Cheshire, North Wales & Wirral.
Within its constitution the major aims are:
- to inform the public of the nature of the problem of dyslexia and its incidence in the community, to encourage public support and understanding and to promote and widen recognition of the disability.
- to give information and support to parents and others in their attempts to find education which will enable the dyslexic individual to reach his or her full potential.
Its work is carried out entirely by voluntary persons elected as officers of the Association by its members and the funds which it requires to carry out this work have largely been raised through generous donations made by individual members of the public, and subscriptions.
We were previously known as the Cheshire Dyslexia Association. We have been able through an extended network to cover a larger area and along with this it became necessary to change the associations name. We are now known as Cheshire, North Wales & Wirral Dyslexia association.
A further development is that we are able to recommend fully qualified and experienced assessors.
If you would like to offer your help, such as knowledge or skills in dyslexia either as a parent, teacher or other, please let us know.
